While crafting my pitch, I kept second-guessing myself and felt that this project was just outside my reach. I didn’t think I’d be able to handle the pressure of completing so much in just one week. From the first day onward, though, I received so much guidance and support from the entire team. I never felt as if I was confused on what I was doing or directionless when it came to any aspect of my story.

This is the kind of project that helps you realize that you are a lot more capable than you think you are. Not only when it comes to the work you produce, but the people you meet and learn about. Both with my subject and with the whole Next Gen team, I was able to make genuine connections and foster growth within myself through them.

I also learned that while not every idea will work out in the end, it is incredibly important to advocate for yourself and share ideas that you feel passionately about. I’m excited to see what I can accomplish with more practice, especially when it comes to audio. It came the most naturally to me, so I would love to work with it more and learn more advanced ways of editing.
